San Diego Eye Bank® — Eye Donation, Distribution, and Processing

The San Diego Eye Bank® is a California Non-Profit corporation dedicated to the preservation and restoration of sight through the collection, processing, and distribution of human ocular tissue; progress in medicine through the support of research; the maintenance of an eye center for diagnostic evaluation and therapy; and the sponsorship of educational programs for the medical community and general public.

The Gift of Sight

CustomCut®/Distribution

By deciding to donate, you can provide one of the most important gifts of all: The Gift of Sight. You have the opportunity to donate corneas and other needed tissues for transplant and/or research. Your donation can help two people who suffer from corneal blindness, or help thousands through numerous research programs. These programs help in the development of cures for ocular blindness and disease, new technology, and medical devices in ophthalmology.

International Cornea Project®

The San Diego Eye Bank® is dedicated to restoring sight around the world. In 1994 the SDEB assumed the International Cornea Project® from the Lions Eye Bank of the San Joaquin Valley. The International Cornea Project® is a humanitarian program whose mission is to provide corneas for transplantation to ophthalmologists and eye banks around the world. Since its inception, the International Cornea Project® has provided over 37,000 corneas worldwide.
