Established in 1960, The San Diego Eye Bank® has helped thousands of donor families honor their loved ones through donation, and has restored sight to tens of thousands by providing corneas for transplantation. We are one of the largest and most well respected organizations in the field, and are proud to help facilitate the Gift of Sight.
The San Diego Eye Bank® Board of Directors consists of ophthalmologists and financial and legal advisors. To meet the mission of the San Diego Eye Bank®, the board sets the overall policy and direction of our organization.
At the San Diego Eye Bank®, we work with hospitals and hospices to meet the needs of the donors and their families, and to help facilitate the Gift of Sight.
At the San Diego Eye Bank®, our hospital and hospice development services help healthcare professionals maintain compliance with federal regulations regarding anatomical donation, and provide ocular tissue donation guidance through continuing education programs.

At the San Diego Eye Bank®, we offer continuing medical education credits through the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Our programs are designed for ophthalmic medical professionals.
San Diego Eye Bank® Nurses' Advisory Board members are liaison between their facilities and the San Diego Eye Bank®. Their mission is to help meet the needs of the San Diego Eye Bank® for its recipients, and to provide educational programs for San Diego-area healthcare providers.
The International Cornea Project® is a humanitarian outreach program established to provide ocular tissue donation services to ophthalmologists and eye banks throughout the world.
